Graham Mitchell

Graham has been a trustee of the charities since 2013 and has served as Treasurer, Vice-Chair and Chair of the board at different times. He moved to York in 2012, is married with one son and one grandson. Interests are listed as Theatre, Newcastle United, and Yorkshire CCC, reading, walking and making good use of his retirement by being a trustee of not only our charities but also The Joseph Rowntree Theatre in York, where he regularly volunteers. Prior to retirement, he was employed in banking in different locations across the North of England, and latterly he was an employed consultant supervising independent financial advisers for a national firm of IFAs that had representatives all over the country from Manchester, Leeds & Hull in the North to London, Surrey & Bristol in the South.

David Nash

David has spent the last 18 years of his career working with charity partners both in the UK and overseas. He has been a school governor, local councillor, and head of a charity in India and currently runs a major international climate change program for the Z Zurich Foundation. He joined CFS in 2021 to better connect with his adopted local community in Selby. Outside of work David is most likely to be found at the cinema or with his head in a book.

Nic Dennison

Nic is a strategic housing professional with a genuine interest in housing and the built-environment having worked in the charitable and housing sectors for nearly 30-years. Areas of speciality include neighbourhood management, leasehold management and homelessness. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Housing and was previously a member of the National Housing Federations Home Ownership Advisory Panel.  He is passionate about anti-poverty, social justice and anything music and tech-related.

Tom Jenkins

Tom is retired, in his professional life he was a senior manager in Human Resources, Operations, Projects , Sales and Marketing for a major UK manufacturer. 

In retirement as a volunteer he has acted as Chair for many years for two voluntary organisations dealing with low cost furniture reuse and low cost private rental.

 Other current voluntary work includes selection work for an international aid organisation, and previously Board Membership of an HM Prison, Housing Associations, substance abuse counselling, and citizens advise  advisor.

Timothy Leonard

Tim is a Strategy Director for a Brand Transformation Agency. For over 20 years he has worked with business leaders from all over the world in wide variety of sectors to get under the skin of business challenges so that we can leverage creativity and strategy to unlock growth and opportunities while having a positive impact on communities and the world.

Matt Farrelly

Matt has been involved with CFS as a trustee 2017 and strongly believes in its goals and its foundation as community based charity. Now retired, he brings experience of business and project management at a senior level, health and safety management and culture change within organisations. He worked abroad for over 12 years many of which were spend in developing countries with associated social and cultural challenges. He is a Chartered Engineer with a Masters in Business Administration.
